A few ideas from the current issue of Via magazine. These events all seem like non-winter gatherings.
The Golden Gate Angling & Casting Club offers free lessons in fly casting every second Saturday on the apparently lovely jade green casting ponds at the park.
The oldest public lawn bowling club in the US offers free beginners’ classes twice weekly on perfect grounds inside the Park.
Dance the Lindy inside the Park at the swing dance events with a free half hour lesson on Sundays at noon-since you now want to dance more!!!
Opera in Robin Williams Meadow each fall with pop standards and upcoming season attractions. Free alfresco event. (Past your 52 week deadline though.)
